Spice up your last-minute 4th of July décor with these easy ideas! 🎉

No need to stress about decorating for your Independence Day celebrations. We’ve got you covered with some simple yet festive décor ideas.

1. Incorporate pillows

It’s all about red, white, and blue when decorating for the 4th of July, so blue pillows are perfect when setting up your porch or patio! If you don’t want to buy new pillows, get some pillow covers to repurpose the ones you already have.

2. Layer with blankets

The next step is to layer in a throw blanket with a blue-striped soft throw on the arm of the sectional. Little touches like this go a long way to making your 4th of July porch decorations look really welcoming and inviting.

3. Add red, white, and blue flowers

It’s very easy to go overboard when using patriotic decorations. It’s so helpful to focus on a base of solid colors and then layer in details and patterns over time!

4. Bring indoor decorations outdoors

Since outdoor furniture and décor tends to have a different look than indoor pieces, try to bring some indoor pieces outdoors especially for parties. They add so much texture and detail. Plus, since you already own them, they’re an inexpensive & fun way to show off your creative ideas!

5. Add in patriotic bunting & flags

This is completely optional, but bunting is a classic decoration for the 4th! There are so many different types of bunting to add that classic red, white & blue to any wall or table. Bunting flags look wonderful over a drinks table or BBQ station.

6. Add pops of red

The white and blue are easy to find, but a little red makes the whole display pop! Add some simple touches, like a red lantern or red basket. These stand out against white pillows or more subtle touches. Plus, it’s easier to find inexpensive solid red pieces you can use in a variety of ways than to splurge on patriotic-themed décor that only fits on patriotic holidays.

7. Make some patriotic crafts

There are so many clever DIY Fourth of July crafts out there to add a unique detail to your lovely porch! Many of these involve adding a little blue paint to an old pallet or paint cans to add a little rustic charm.

  • Spray paint blue and white stars to an old galvanized tub for a unique drinks station.
  • Make red, white, and blue luminarias with tissue paper to place along a driveway or path.
  • Build your own patriotic flowers out of colorful paper.
